The Difference Between No2 and NO2

Nitric oxide, also known as nitrogen monoxide, is a chemical compound in the form of a gas that acts as a signaling molecule. These three chemical compounds are similar in form but very different in their reactive effects on the human body. Each of these compounds directly or indirectly interacts with CO2, otherwise known as carbon dioxide. This chemical compound is composed of two oxygen atoms, which are bonded to a carbon atom. At regular temperatures carbon monoxide stays in gaseous form. Carbon dioxide is produced by nearly every living thing, from humans to animals to plants to the smallest of microorganisms. This production happens during respiration and plants use the CO2 during the process of photosynthesis to make sugar, which either assists in plant growth or can be re-consumed. The density of CO2 is 1,600 kg/m� as a solid and 1.98 kg/m� as a gas.

 

While the science is a bit tricky, these are the basic details. Comparing the density of gases is a discussion that is most likely relevant only in a scientific discussion and not surrounding the nutritional value of the popular No2 supplement from MRI.
